As a Technology Business Experience & Planning Group Manager within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland, OH, Dallas, TX, Birmingham, AL, or Denver, CO. The Technology Business Experience & Planning Group Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and executing the technology data strategy across the organization. This role ensures technology leaders have trusted, actionable data to effectively plan, deliver outcomes, manage risk, and report performance. This leader serves as a critical bridge between technology and the business, blending strong technical data expertise with exceptional communication and relationship‑building skills. The role partners closely with senior technology stakeholders and ensures the organization is effectively adopting and utilizing enterprise data tools and capabilities as they are rolled out. Job Description Oversees cross-functional teams to improve line of business planning methods. Defines key line of business initiatives and growth strategies and programs that will drive line of business objectives. Demonstrates commitment to quality by delivering customer focus, appropriate risk management practices and leadership standards to customers and/or internal partners. Responsible for the evaluation and transformation of business models for the line of business to improve their organizational effectiveness, expand business, and increase profits Leads team in execution of strategic plan and/or specific initiatives to achieve line of business goals. Develops strong partnerships with key decision makers to ensure cross-business and cross-functional alignment and synergy. Leads a team or multiple teams that develop and implement best practices and learning plans to meet business objectives. Requirements

  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data architecture, and data tools.
  • Ability to translate data and technical concepts into meaningful business insights.
  • Proven experience developing, planning, and delivering a data domain or data strategy.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with senior leaders to support delivery, reporting, and risk management.
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity and help bring structure, clarity, and direction.
  • Prior experience working within or closely alongside technology organizations.
  • Experience leading teams focused on data, planning, analytics, or business enablement.
  • Exposure to enterprise data tooling and data enablement initiatives.
  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree.
  • Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable.
  • Industry-relevant experience is typically 8+ years.
  • At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required.
  • Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the end‑to‑end technology data strategy, including defining, planning, and delivery of the technology data domain.
  • Establish a cohesive data domain framework that enables consistent, reliable, and business‑ready technology data.
  • Ensure data is trustworthy, timely, and appropriately governed to support decision‑making, risk management, and performance reporting.
  • Partner with technology leaders to understand needs and translate them into effective data solutions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor who can “speak data” to technical teams while clearly articulating the business value of technology data to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure leaders have visibility into delivery health, forecast accuracy, and risk through effective data and reporting.
  • Enable and reinforce usage of enterprise data tools as they are rolled out by the broader data organization.
  • Ensure the team and stakeholders are leveraging tools consistently and effectively to maximize value.
  • Identify gaps, adoption challenges, and opportunities for improved data utilization.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4–5 direct reports.
  • Set clear priorities, expectations, and outcomes aligned to technology and enterprise goals.
  • Build strong working relationships across technology and business teams.
  • Communicate complex data concepts in a clear, compelling, and audience‑appropriate way.
