We are seeking a highly qualified professional to join our Product Engineering team. This pivotal role requires a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, embraces significant responsibilities, and collaborates effectively across cross-functional teams. As a System Product Engineer within the Advanced Product Development team, you will play a key role in enabling new technologies and driving product innovation.

  • Lead system-level product development, ensuring tight integration with system firmware, memory, logic, connectivity, and peripheral components.
  • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive test strategies throughout the product lifecycle—from initial definition and New Product Introduction (NPI) to manufacturing and production ramp.
  • Translate product and marketing requirements into optimized test flows and screening strategies that meet stringent OEM quality standards.
  • Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams—including memory, logic, firmware, hardware, and software—to understand product requirements, DPPM targets, and recovery strategies, and to develop cost-effective, high-quality test solutions.
  • Drive failure analysis for qualification and yield issues during the NPI phase, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to improve test coverage and process robustness.
  • Analyze test data to provide actionable insights to design and manufacturing teams, enhancing product quality and yield.
  • Serve as the functional lead for product development, partnering with Quality, Systems, Firmware, Marketing, and Operations to resolve issues and drive cost and yield improvements.
  • Define and implement test stack architecture, including critical decisions around firmware, software, and platform requirements.
  • Deeply partner with Test Engineering (TE) to develop and maintain test programs using Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems such as Advantest and Teradyne, ensuring scalable and reliable test coverage.
  • Contribute to test firmware development and validation, aligning with system-level test and product requirements.
  • Build and support test software infrastructure to enable automated, scalable testing across platforms.
  • Leverage data analytics to extract insights from large-scale test and qualification datasets, driving strategic improvements in yield and product performance.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical leadership and fostering professional growth.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and conduct strategic analyses to support innovation and operational efficiency.
  • Deliver regular, executive-level presentations on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in memory, storage, or system-level product, test, or validation engineering.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor IC design, including simulation, emulation, and manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on experience in system and memory testing, including failure analysis using tools such as oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, and jammers.
  • Proficiency in programming languages: C, C++, Python.
  • Solid knowledge of high-speed interface protocols, likes: NAND (Toggle/ONFI) DDR3–DDR5, LPDDR3–LPDDR5 GDDR3–GDDR6, HBM2/3/3E/4 PCIe Gen5/Gen6
  • Experience using Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems such as Advantest and Teradyne.
  • Background in firmware development, test software infrastructure, and data analytics.
  • Strong understanding of CPU/GPU architectures and their interaction with memory and storage subsystems.
  • Domain expertise in memory (DRAM/NAND) and storage technologies (SSD) for data center and AI platforms.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Sandisk's Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.
  • Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan.
  • Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan.
  • RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires, subject to Sandisk's Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
