About The Position

Sandisk is seeking an accomplished Product Development Engineer with extensive expertise in AI/ML to lead innovative projects in NAND Flash test data analysis, yield optimization, and test time reduction. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on technical proficiency with leadership skills, driving impactful solutions and mentoring junior engineers. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively across disciplines, advancing the future of semiconductor manufacturing through cutting-edge AI/ML applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics & Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering, Data Science with 8+ years of experience in AI/ML development and application
  • Strong foundation in machine learning and statistical modeling
  • Experience with SQL and Python
  • Strong data handling and analysis libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research-driven engineering environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in MLOps including CI/CD for ML, reliable deployment workflows, and managing the model at all stages of the lifecycle
  • Basic understanding or experience in design, production test, and NAND flash memory

  • Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), such as:
  • Model fine-tuning

Responsibilities

  • Build and evaluate AI/ML models to analyze high volumes of semiconductor test data for yield optimization and test time reduction.
  • Design end-to-end ML pipelines, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, validation, and deployment
  • Lead and manage projects with accountability, technical proficiency, and a high degree of ownership.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers by delivering technical guidance, sharing industry’s best practices, and facilitating their professional development
  • Explore physics-informed machine learning with white box models and interpretable AI
  • Collaborate with domain experts and product owners to translate business and manufacturing test problems into machine learning solutions
  • Share findings through technical reports, presentations, internal publications, or patents
