About The Position

The Meals and Baking Solutions (MBS) North America Foodservice (NAF) Packaging R&D Technologist will support various brands and channels, focusing on commercialization, innovation, and cost savings in packaging for Meals and Baking products. This role offers the opportunity to develop technical expertise in packaging materials and processes while working in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Aptitude for learning new computer systems and data management.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable in lab, pilot plant, or manufacturing environments.
• Organizational and project management skills.
• Willingness to learn new skills and work independently or in a team.
• Basic understanding of food safety and human safety.

Nice To Haves

• Tech School Degree
• 1+ years of experience with packaging materials and testing
• Understanding of General Mills systems and business processes
• Passion for problem solving in the CPG industry
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment
• Effective communication skills and ability to multi-task
• Graphic design skills

Responsibilities

• Provide general project support with opportunities for independent project leadership over time.
• Build technical expertise in the commercialization process and systems like Eclips, GPLM, and TOPS.
• Support execution of Line Extensions and material changes affecting multiple products.
• Act as a lead contact for RDSS and coordinate sample testing with Medallion/TAPPI.
• Lead prototyping and design execution with the Packaging Design Center.
• Leverage internal and external networks to support project execution.
• Conduct lab and pilot plant work, including travel for onsite testing and support.
• Utilize go/MSP for managing sales sample production and material procurement.
• Support consumer learning opportunities.
