About The Position

Organization: ABSMC-Alta Bates Summit Med Center Position Overview: Lead technologist duties directly involves a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation and/or other forms of energy to provide diagnostic images. This role is expected to have direct patient care possibility 50% of total hours worked. Maintains competency in all areas of licensure for self and all supervised staff. Provides leadership for technical and support staff within assigned areas of responsibility. Responsible for providing and maintaining adequate coverage and coordination of activities within assigned areas of responsibility. Provides support and training assistance to all assigned staff, maintains all equipment and equipment certifications, including ACR for Mammography and Ultrasound. General guidance and direction provided by the Operations Manager, Radiologists, and Director The position requires acquisition of high quality images, produce and maintain data for quality management, excellent customer service skills and the exercise of mature and independent judgment. Requirements

  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
  • Successful completion of AMA Accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Completion of mammography training.
  • ARRT - Radiography - American Register of Radiologic Technologists OR CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist OR RHM-Radiology Mammography OR BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider OR ARDMS-American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • 3-5 years Minimum of 5 years as a staff technologist in area of certifications.
  • Competent in professional, technical and leadership skills as determined to be adequate by the Manager/Director.
  • Ability to perform examinations of excellent technical quality in an efficient manner.
  • Knowledge of Mammography Instrumentation operation and quality control procedures is necessary.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Knowledge of departmental computer systems operations is essential (EPIC programs, including Radiant, PACS).

Nice To Haves

  • At least two years experience as a Sr. technologist in area of certifications.
