About The Position

We are looking for a firmware technologist to lead the architecture, design, and development of firmware for next-generation SSD products. This role sits at the intersection of deep technical expertise, system-level architecture, and cross-functional technical leadership, and is ideal for engineers who want to influence platform direction while remaining hands-on.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of SSD firmware development experience
  • Expertise in NVMe and storage protocols
  • Experience with firmware for storage systems and NAND flash architecture
  • Experience working in global, cross-site engineering environments
  • Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with low-level hardware interactions and schematics
  • Experience leading technical initiatives or system-level architecture efforts
  • Recognized as a technical authority within firmware or storage engineering

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design, and development of firmware for next-generation SSD products, focusing on embedded firmware infrastructure and system-level design
  • Design and implement complex firmware architectures with robust hardware integration
  • Provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams to deliver complex system-level features
  • Debug, optimize, and enhance firmware performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Collaborate with hardware and validation engineers to define and refine firmware–hardware interfaces
  • Analyze and resolve complex technical issues across the development lifecycle
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor engineers to maintain a high bar for code quality
  • Author and review technical specifications and architecture documents
  • Participate in cross-functional design reviews to align firmware with broader product objectives
  • Stay current with industry trends in firmware, storage systems, NAND, and embedded platforms
  • Drive innovation to improve performance, reliability, and feature capabilities
