Description Performs echocardiograms and vascular studies. Responsibilities Provides direct patient care and evaluates outcome. Assess patient as appropriate for procedure and monitor patients during and after procedure. Performs all echo-imaging services provided in the department to demonstrate structures for interpretation and/or therapeutic interpretation. Performs exams using DICOM procedures. Completes reporting according to CV1S workflow. Evaluates results of procedures and patient response and takes action accordingly. Performs duties and responsibilities such that delays are prevented and/or minimized. Provides safety measures for patients undergoing procedures. Monitors quality control of equipment and participates in continuing quality improvement in the assigned division. Evaluates images for technical quality, assuring proper identification is recorded. Assumes responsibility for equipment in assigned area and reports any malfunctions. Participates in CQI activities. Performs specific quality control duties as assigned. Communicates patient/family healthcare needs to the appropriate healthcare provider. Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner. Reporting of variances or significant events/results to the appropriate care giver. Qualifications Education: High School or GED Associate's Degree Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program Experience: 1 1 Completion of cardiac ultrasound training program, which includes clinical hours, or one-to-two years experience performing echocardiograms, and registry eligible One-to-two years experience performing echocardiograms
