This is position is located at the Plumb Heart Center with hours Monday-Friday 7:00a-3:30p. Work Shift Day Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Summary This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by participating in duties directly involved with imaging including registration, patient preparation, transportation, and monitoring patients for the effective utilization of this unit. Job Description Job Duties Ensures that all accurate and clinically relevant information is communicated with patients, their families and co-workers at hand offs and other times as needed. Takes all measures necessary to ensure that the appropriate and involved parties have communicated necessary information in order to allow for the best possible patient outcome. Assists in phone communication with other departments and providers. Demonstrates working knowledge of EPIC Registration, PACS, and other computer software programs as assigned. Demonstrates proper safety technique with imaging/positioning equipment. Participates in department/hospital meetings, and activities per department guidelines. Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards. Assists the Technologist with ancillary tasks. Maintains cleanliness of equipment and department. Utilizes and follows proper Isolation Practices. Registers patients for imaging procedures. Contributes to the efficient operation of the department ensuring the quality and continuity of patient care. Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries. Department Specific Duties MRI: Maintains up to date MRI Level I safety and compliance knowledge specific to MRI safety regulations. Understands and complies with all MRI safety regulations. Obtains patient safety checklist and reviews results with the MRI Level II Technologist. Transports patients for the Radiology department, including ED, Ancillary departments and the nursing floors
