Requirements

• High school/G.E.D
• Current Basic Life Support Certification is required.
• This is a physical job that calls for excellent communication and people skills.
• Tech Assistant needs the strength to help lift patients, the stamina to spend all day of their feet, and the communication skills to work with patients, families, and hospital staff.
• The Tech Assistant needs to be reliable, patient, flexible and able to protect patient's privacy

Responsibilities

• Technologist Assistant serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team and is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered technologist.
• The tech assistant will perform technologist care skills that have been delegated by the supervising technologist, as well as escorts/transports patients to/from nursing units and diagnostic areas safely with respect for confidentiality as assigned.
• Correctly identifies patients, recognizes their limitations and obtains additional information and assistance as needed.
