About The Position

The position involves leading the end-to-end migration from Teradata, BTEQ scripts, and DMX workflows to GCP-native solutions. The role also requires providing technical leadership and managing risks and timelines effectively.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering or data warehousing.
• Strong hands-on experience with Teradata, BTEQ, and DMX.
• Proven expertise in GCP, especially BigQuery, Dataflow, and Airflow.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data transformation logic.
• Experience with cloud migration strategies and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end migration from Teradata, BTEQ scripts, and DMX workflows to GCP-native solutions.
• Assess and analyze existing data models, ETL pipelines, and performance bottlenecks in the legacy environment.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and optimized data pipelines using Dataflow and Airflow.
• Re-engineer legacy BTEQ scripts and DMX workflows into modern GCP equivalents.
• Develop and optimize data models in BigQuery to support business analytics and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, architects, QA, and business stakeholders.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and performance throughout the migration lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and hands-on support to the migration team.
• Manage risks, timelines, and resource allocation effectively.
• Document migration strategy, architecture decisions, and operational procedures.
