Responsibilities
- Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and filter replacements, according to dealership and manufacturer guidelines.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with vehicles, including engine, transmission, suspension, and electrical systems, using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Conduct vehicle inspections to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs or maintenance services to customers.
- Complete repairs and service orders efficiently and accurately, documenting work performed and parts used in accordance with dealership procedures.
- Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs to ensure proper operation and identify any additional issues.
- Communicate with service advisors and customers to explain repair recommendations, provide cost estimates, and address any questions or concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tools, equipment, and service bays, to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Stay informed about current automotive technology, diagnostic techniques, and manufacturer updates through training and continuing education.
- Follow dealership and manufacturer guidelines for warranty repairs, recalls, and service campaigns, ensuring compliance with warranty and safety standards.
- Collaborate with other technicians and service department staff to ensure timely completion of repairs and customer satisfaction.
