Service Technician — Hydraulic Pump & Motor Repair šŸ’° $22.00 – $30.00 / hr | šŸ“ Indianapolis, IN | Full-Time šŸ¢ Nova Hydraulics, an MCE Company | Reports to: General Manager Are you the kind of technician who gets satisfaction from taking apart a worn-out hydraulic pump, finding exactly what went wrong, and putting it back together better than it was? We service and remanufacture hydraulic pumps and motors for leading brands Parker/Denison (including Gold Cup), Sauer Sundstrand Danfoss, Bosch Rexroth, and Eaton Vickers and we're known in the industry for exceptional quality and the fastest turnaround around. Every unit that leaves our shop is tested on our custom-built test stand and must meet or exceed OEM specifications. Requirements

  • Solid hands-on mechanical skills comfortable using hand tools, lathes, mills, and welding equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving ability you can think through a diagnosis methodically and find the root cause.
  • Reliable, dependable, and honest with a genuine commitment to doing the job right.
  • Willingness to learn hydraulic systems and grow into a specialist this is a role you can build a career in.
  • Must supply own basic hand tools for daily shop use.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work comfortably in a shop environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with hydraulic pump or motor repair, teardown, and rebuild.
  • Familiarity with brands such as Parker/Denison, Sauer Sundstrand, Bosch Rexroth, or Eaton Vickers.
  • Experience operating precision machining equipment (lathes, mills) in a repair environment.
  • Background in fluid power, industrial maintenance, or related mechanical trade.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, diagnose, and repair hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, and related components across leading brands including Parker/Denison, Sauer Sundstrand, Bosch Rexroth, and Eaton Vickers.
  • Manufacture, rework, and machine components and assemblies as part of the repair process.
  • Apply industrial coatings and paint to refurbished units per shop standards.
  • Assist with unit testing on Nova's custom-built test stand to verify performance meets or exceeds OEM specifications.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time including teardown sheets, service orders, and company forms.
  • Follow all safety procedures, environmental guidelines, PPE requirements, and company rules on the shop floor.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace in Nova's climate-controlled facility to prevent contamination and ensure repair quality.
  • Provide courteous, professional technical support and communication with coworkers and customers alike.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic component issues efficiently and recommend the right repair or replacement path.
  • Assist with shop and warehouse duties as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
