Discover more about Milliken’s curious minds and inspired solutions at Milliken.com and on Facebook, Instagram and  LinkedIn.Live Oak - Technician    Job Description The Mechanical Technician will report to the Departmental Supervisor and is required to perform mechanical repairs and maintenance as part of the scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) process as well as assisting in repairing unscheduled mechanical breakdowns during normal production. The Mechanical Technician shall be self-motivated, demonstrate strong communication skills, and must be able to work with others in a team environment.  

Requirements

  • Should possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve opportunities.
  • Associate must have minimum 2 years industrial mechanical experience. 2 years electrical, electronics, or electro-mechanical degree from an accredited school is preferred, but not required.
  • Associate must have working knowledge of the tools and materials common to the mechanical trade.
  • Read and comprehend mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Associate must have basic mechanical knowledge that includes drive systems, pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and be capable of using motorized equipment (i.e., forklifts, tuggers, jig lift, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the Live Oak Complex safety process. This includes complying with all safety rules and procedures and participating on a plant safety team.
  • Work the posted PM schedule. This is typically Monday through Friday, but there are occasions when PM is scheduled on the weekends.
  • Be available for after hour support or on weekends as needed.
  • Able to interact effectively with management, staff, vendors, customers, and work independently, and/or as part of a team.
  • Complete work orders and projects assigned.
  • Satisfactorily complete Continuous Skills Development (CSD) training requirements.
