About the position

The Flight Simulation | Labs organization at the Boeing Company has an exciting Test & Evaluation Engineering Management opportunity as a Technician Support Manager to manage the Flight Simulation Labs Technician team in Berkeley, MO. This position will support all of the Flight Simulation Labs Technician responsibilities across the multiple areas Flight Simulation Labs supports with a team of multi-disciplined technician and technical support teams. The Flight Simulation | Labs organization provides a comprehensive simulation and laboratory solution for the design, development, integration and deployment of products of the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. The Technician Manager will manage employees performing multiple technician and technical support tasks including technician support of daily readiness, repair, and sustainment efforts of the labs; technician completion and integration of designed solutions for simulators and labs; and fabrication on scheduled modifications and upgrades. The engineering leader will be responsible for developing and executing project plans, acquiring resources for project development, developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing technical oversight on team activities, leading process improvements, and employee development.

Responsibilities

  • Manages employees performing technician and technical activities in support of all Flight Simulation Labs duties.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets technician goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Develops and executes Lab facility coordination, maintenance, repairs, upkeep, installation and integration of designed solutions for the labs, secure operations, and scheduling lab facility efforts.
  • Assures required calibration, accreditation, and compliance requirements of the labs are maintained.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' related experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in a leadership role (team lead, project, manager).
  • Experience working with electronics, mechanical systems in design fabrication or test troubleshooting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements.
  • Experience developing and maintaining positive relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Experience in Simulation or System Integration Labs design, test or integration activities.
