At Lockheed Martin Space , we design and build technologies that protect national security, enable scientific discovery, and advance humanity’s presence in space. Our Production Operations team plays a critical role—transforming engineering innovation into mission-ready hardware. As a Technician Sr, you’ll contribute directly to the development of flight and ground-support systems that support some of the nation’s most important space and defense missions. We’re seeking a skilled Technician Sr to join our high-performance team in Huntsville, Alabama. In this hands-on role, you’ll build, assemble, troubleshoot, and test cable assemblies and electromechanical hardware that meet rigorous military and flight specifications. You’ll work both independently and collaboratively, interpreting engineering documentation and contributing to a wide range of production tasks—from repetitive builds to complex prototype support.

  • Perform electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical assembly operations.
  • Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain equipment, components, devices, and systems.
  • Build assemblies with minimal work instructions and interpret engineering drawings to develop initial layouts.
  • Complete hands-on electrical and minor mechanical assembly tasks across repetitive and non-repetitive production environments.
  • Perform basic math and use computers at a fundamental level for work documentation and verification.
  • Conduct in-process quality inspections in accordance with defined specifications.
  • Execute continuity checks on work in progress and completed assemblies.
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test prototype or experimental assemblies and subassemblies under simulated conditions.

  • Working knowledge of tools and materials used in electrical cable / wire harness fabrication and basic mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to obtain IPC-620 and IPC-610 certifications.
  • Strong mechanical background with a solid understanding of drawings, measurements, tooling, and identification of mechanical/electrical components.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Familiarity with test instrumentation such as accelerometers, thermocouples, and strain gauges.
  • Basic knowledge of test equipment (e.g., DITMCO, oscilloscopes).
  • Prior experience or certifications directly supporting the tasks described.
  • Ability and willingness to occasionally travel to remote sites for production operations support.
  • Experience building deliverable hardware to military or flight specifications.
