Position Summary The Rental Mechanic will perform efficient and thorough mechanical repairs and or maintenance of all rental equipment in the shop.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 year or more of work-related experience in a mechanic/technician related position.
  • Must have required shop hand tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate acquired through a vocational or technical school.
  • 3 years or more of work-related experience with heavy equipment, preferably with a rental company or Caterpillar and/or in a position with a working knowledge of hydraulics, powertrain, electronic/electrical systems, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failures.
  • Assist in rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining equipment and components.
  • Understand the operations, functions, specifications, capabilities, and controls of any piece of rental equipment.
  • Complete all documents associated with repairs in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Adhere to the manager's and lead mechanic's directions regarding all repairs and service calls.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and maintain quality housekeeping in the work area.
