About The Position

The Quality Assurance Technician ensures that all inks and related products meet strict quality standards and customer specifications. This hands-on role involves testing production batches, performing color matching, identifying non-conformances, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The technician works closely with production teams to resolve quality issues and maintain compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical or science discipline preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing or laboratory quality assurance; experience in ink or chemical manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in color matching and ink quality assessment; ability to pass a color vision test.
  • Familiarity with laboratory testing equipment and quality control methodologies.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office and data entry into quality management systems.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks as required (e.g., lifting up to 45 pounds).
  • Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test raw materials, in-process batches, and finished inks for quality, consistency, and compliance with specifications.
  • Perform color quality tests and color matching, making batch adjustments as needed.
  • Document and maintain accurate quality records, including test results and corrective actions, using company systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Identify non-conformances in quality or practices and take or recommend appropriate corrective action within scope of knowledge.
  • Calibrate and verify testing equipment to ensure accuracy.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities by analyzing data and recommending process enhancements.
  • Investigate and analyze non-conforming batches, assist in root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain sample retention and manage product traceability.
  • Communicate effectively with production, management, and customers regarding quality issues and resolutions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies and procedures related to quality and safety.
