Technician, Prep and Finish (Masker)

As a Prep & Finish Technician , you’ll perform precision masking by applying thermal spray barrier tape to specific areas of each part. What you’ll do: Precision Masking for Thermal Spray/ Metalizing/ and/or Metal Spray. Post processing unmasking. Read and interprets specification manuals, blueprints, templates, and layouts for product specifications such as tooling instructions, tolerances and dimensions. Translates instructions into actions. Apply thermal barrier tape to specific areas of each part Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Inspect quality and accuracy of run work. Set up and operate test equipment (e.g., pressure test). Participate in continuous improvement of cell processes. Cross train in other complementary skills and seek endorsement for those skills as needed to support production requirements. Move between production assignments that utilize multiple skills endorsements as needed to support production requirements. Participate in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements. Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions. Carry out other duties as assigned

Requirements

Previous experience working with hands in close spaces on fine details
Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints.
Previous experience working with precision measuring instruments.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds (unassisted).
Regularly required to sit for prolonged periods.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of related company instructions, company processes, rework process instructions, original equipment manufacturer manuals, and MSDS labels.
Working knowledge of production management computer systems and other related internal control systems.
Specialized training in machine shop practices.

Responsibilities
