About The Position

A3 Technology, Inc. is seeking experienced APC Field Technicians to perform hands-on installation, verification, and legacy system disposition activities supporting device deployments at FAA sites for the FAA Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) Program. The Technician provides direct field execution support including cabling, power verification, hardware mounting, and documentation updates in operational FAA environments. The position requires advanced technical expertise in electronics systems, structured cabling, power verification, and field execution within operational FAA environments, with close coordination among Program Management, Engineering Services, Technical Operations, vendors, and site personnel to ensure compliance with FAA standards and safe continuity of air traffic operations.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Telecommunications, or a related discipline (or equivalent military or field experience).
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive experience as an electronics technician supporting complex communications, radar, or mission-critical systems.
  • Demonstrated experience performing power, cabling, and interconnect verification in operational environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation plans.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail in safety-critical environments.
  • Proficiency using test equipment (e.g., multimeters, cable testers, continuity testers).
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting FAA, DoD, or other Federal aviation or critical infrastructure programs.
  • Familiarity with Voice Communication Systems (VCS), VoIP-based communications, or air traffic control support systems.
  • Experience supporting system cutovers, decommissioning, or legacy system disposition activities.
  • OSHA safety training or equivalent field safety certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Install hardware, mount equipment, and connect power and network interfaces.
  • Perform structured cabling terminations and labeling.
  • Verify grounding and bonding compliance.
  • Conduct continuity and connectivity testing.
  • Perform independent technical verification of power, grounding, and interconnect cabling to confirm compliance with approved designs, equipment specifications, and site requirements.
  • Validate wiring accuracy, labeling, continuity, and terminations in preparation for equipment installation and activation.
  • Document test results and verification outcomes and update designated program repositories or fusion hubs to ensure traceability and readiness for FAA acceptance.
  • Support post-site survey activities by validating survey findings, identifying technical discrepancies, and assisting with remediation planning to bring sites to an install-ready condition.
  • Coordinate on-site activities with Facilities Key Personnel (KP), Engineering Services, Technical Operations (Tech Ops), Air Traffic personnel, and vendors.
  • Provide technical oversight during vendor installation or remediation activities to ensure adherence to FAA standards and approved plans.
  • Support physical removal of decommissioned legacy equipment, including associated cabling, racks, and peripheral components, following FAA-approved procedures.
  • Assist with packaging, staging, and preparation of equipment for transfer, reuse, or environmentally compliant disposal.
  • Validate equipment inventories, serial numbers, and configurations prior to shipment or disposal and assist with required disposition documentation.
  • Perform all work in accordance with FAA safety, security, and site-specific access requirements.
  • Ensure activities minimize operational impact to air traffic services and comply with environmental and property management requirements.
  • Maintain accurate, auditable records of technical work performed, discrepancies identified, and corrective actions completed.
  • Provide timely inputs to site execution reports, installation oversight records, and disposition documentation.
  • Support preparation of deliverables requiring technical verification entries, installation coordination records, and final disposition completion documentation.
