About The Position

The Mechanical Technician (Boilermaker) at Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is responsible for performing mechanical functions including inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role involves routine maintenance of various mechanical systems and equipment, compliance with safety regulations, and participation in training programs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
  • Technical certification or equivalent training in a mechanical environment is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years mechanical experience is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years gas-fired, engine-driven compressor experience is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting and maintenance skills is required.
  • Experience in maintenance and repair of reciprocating engines is required.
  • Current driver's license and good driving record are required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and regulations is required.
  • Basic mathematical skills for practical solutions are required.
  • Basic computer skills in MS Word and Excel are required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to modify communication style to engage various audiences is required.
  • Proactive approach to addressing issues is required.
  • Dependability and commitment to the role and team are required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification in an energy-related field is preferred.
  • Experience with advanced mechanical systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on centrifugal pumps and electric motors, including bearing and seal replacements, alignments, and modifications.
  • Maintain and repair other mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, and air compressors.
  • Assist with the replacement of pumps, motors, and valves, including foundation work and initial alignment.
  • Participate in training programs and safety meetings to comply with regulations.
  • Complete records of time and regulatory reports accurately.
  • Maintain communication with the Area Supervisor regarding maintenance and equipment issues.
  • Optimize work to minimize overtime.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and maintain facility safety and appearance.
  • Participate in cross-training to develop skills in other areas.
  • Utilize precision tools and test equipment as needed.
  • Respond to operational emergencies as part of the emergency response team.
  • Conduct regulatory required inspections.
  • Supervise contractor services for specialty tasks.
  • Train and guide others in the duties of a Mechanical Technician.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the Area Manager.
