DLZ will provide the necessary training for you to be successful in your role as a Technician - Materials Testing in Western Pennsylvania!

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Adept at both verbal and written communication
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Punctuality a must and the ability to work some weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
  • Ability to frequently lift 50lbs
  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to occasionally travel throughout Pennsylvania and neighboring states
  • Valid driver’s License and ability to pass MVR check required
  • Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with DLZ’s Health and Safety Plan

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience with e-Builder
  • ACI Concrete Field
  • NECEPT Concrete
  • NECEPT Bituminous Field Technician
  • Nuclear Densometer Safety with Hazmat
  • Relevant NICET certifications (Construction Materials Testing; Asphalt, Concrete, Soils)

Responsibilities

  • Perform material testing of soils, aggregates, asphalt concrete, and concrete in the laboratory and on construction sites.
  • Interpret and follow applicable specifications and standards.
  • Obtain and record field/lab data, in a legible and organized fashion; as required by the plans, specifications, or project staff.
  • Generate and compile reports.
  • Speak with team members for a given project assignment, including the contractor and owner’s representatives.
  • Communicate with all entities keeping everyone fully informed.
  • Maintain testing equipment as required.
  • Understand and follow the public health and safety requirements and the proper safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
