About The Position

INEOS Organization: INEOS is a global manufacturer of petrochemicals, specialty chemicals and oil products. It comprises 17 businesses, each with a major chemical company heritage. Its production network spans 75 manufacturing facilities in 24 countries throughout the world. Business Context: The O&P USA business includes the product lines Ethylene, Propylene, Butadiene, Polypropylene and Polypropylene. Manufacturing sites include Chocolate Bayou Works (Alvin, TX), Battleground Manufacturing Complex (LaPorte, TX), and Carson (Carson, CA), with a division office in League City, TX. How the Role Fits in: The Materials Handling Technician is part of the Site Logistics Department, which reports to the INEOS O&P Supply Chain Organization. The role is responsible for receiving and warehousing raw materials (additives and catalysts) associated with polymer production at Chocolate Bayou Works. This role supports all polymer-manufacturing operations at the site. The Main Purpose of the Role: The Materials Handling Technician is responsible for receiving raw materials (additives and catalysts) and verifying accuracy of those deliveries. This position is responsible for generating bar code labels for additives containers and staging the additives for use within the warehouses. This role coordinates with Manufacturing to deliver raw materials to production areas.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Occasional overtime will be required.
  • Must be flexible and willing to handle a wide variety of responsibilities and take the initiative to manage tasks independently.
  • Capable of operating a forklift and lifting loads up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in a Petrochemical Manufacturing is a plus.
  • Prior warehouse or material handling experience is preferred.
  • Training in HAZMAT shipping preferred.
  • Experience in SAP is a plus.
  • Knowledge of INEOS's organization and procedures a plus.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with individuals inside and outside the company.
  • Ability to judge and prioritize workload.
  • Self-starter able to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming raw materials (catalysts, chemicals, etc.), verify accuracy of incoming deliveries, and verify lab approval.
  • Perform visual inspection, confirm quantities of products received, and complete receiving paperwork.
  • Receive the material into the material management system (MMS).
  • Generate bar code labels for catalyst and additive packages as required.
  • Stage additives in the warehouse for use by manufacturing.
  • Utilize FIFO criteria for staging or special staging arrangements for EPOs.
  • Perform all tasks and functions in compliance with safety and operating procedures.
  • Monitor compliance of packaged raw materials and delivery service providers to INEOS SHE requirements.
  • Support shipment of empty HAZMAT containers for return to suppliers.
  • Maintain housekeeping in areas of responsibility.
  • Deliver catalysts and additives to manufacturing units as required.
  • Participate in monthly physical inventory counts of raw materials to ensure accuracy.
  • Receive essential warehouse and packaging supplies.
  • Support and back-up activities of the Materials Management Coordinator as needed.
  • Perform duties as assigned in support of Warehouse operations.
