This person will report directly to the Quality Assurance Manager and is responsible for conducting physical property analysis for powdered graphite and carbon materials. The analytical techniques will involve both semi-autonomous and manual analysis including: Particle size analysis, Surface area analysis, Tap density, True density, Pellet density, pH, Ash content, Scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and Oil Absorption. This includes following all SOP and safety procedures, recording sample analysis data, assisting in the replacement of simple equipment components, troubleshooting potential issues with assigned equipment, maintaining a clean work area, and completing additional duties as assigned. Additionally, the Laboratory Technician will support management in the commissioning and startup of new equipment, as well as the development and verification of new laboratory techniques and procedures. Appropriate training will be provided for new hires on all equipment and procedures.
