Position Overview : QA Technician is Responsible for all quality assurance testing in the Deer Park site Resins Laboratory. The QA technician will run analysis to ensure raw materials, process samples and finished goods meet all specified requirements in the Process Units and for the Customers. QA technicians will participating in ME projects and implementations of ME tools for continuous Improvement. Completion of all Safety and Quality requirements a an essential part of the role.

Requirements

  • 2 yrs experience in chemical science lab at a chemical manufacturing plant
  • Associate Degree with emphasis on science
  • Must be able to work the following rotation: Bench Time Week Days Liquids Bench 5:00 am- 1:00 pm 1 M-F BPA 6:00 am – 2:30 pm 2 M-F Solids 6:00 am – 2:30 pm 3 M-F Weekend/Long change M-W (off) Weekend (Thu-Fri) 6:00 am - 2:30 pm 4 Thu – Fri Weekend (Sat – Sun) 7:00 am – 7:00 pm 4 Sat- Sun Evening (M-F) 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm 5 M– F

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment; familiarity with LIMS, SAP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Run routine and special samples to determine product specification for process and finished EH&S, project, SQC. R&R and maintenance.
  • Confers and supports operations/engineers senior technicians QA manager to conduct analyses, interpret test results, or develop nonstandard tests.
  • Works jointly with Senior staff and QA manager, engineers to help develop methods and trouble shoot analytical and process problems; this includes analytical testing, analyses and method development.
  • Accurately tests, analyzes, and report sample results.
  • Prepares test solutions, compounds, and reagents for use by main and field laboratories for conducting tests.
  • Review and maintain ISO documentation in team setting.
  • Assist in maintaining cost levels of purchased chemicals.
  • Run Calibrations and standardization of chemicals used in the laboratory.
