There are over 150 employees in Facilities, including Project Managers, Energy and Commissioning Specialists, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Architects, and space Planners. The facilities capital and operating expenditures are in the range of $100M for the University’s $2.0 billion assets under management. The 20-year Capital spending plan envisions $4.0 billion of new investment highlighted by uOttawa launch of project Top Shelf, a $300 million capital investment to build a new facility for the Faculty of Health Sciences at uOttawa’s River Campus, as well as a tower at the Roger Guidon campus to house uOttawa’s new Advanced Medical Research Center (AMRC). Maintains Power Plant (PLC/DSC) and campus system equipment and control elements in good condition, including ventilation, heating, air conditioning, lighting, classrooms and laboratories, as well as energy-use optimization and other matters handled by the technician’s section. Ensures operations of Power Plant 24/7 monitoring and alarm system and building graphic interface web pages. Compensation is determined in accordance with Collective Agreement 772B. The salary range for this position is $36,91 to $45,33 per hour. Once hired, your continuous years of service at the University of Ottawa, your skills along with the attainment of certain certifications, may allow you to earn up to $49,43 per hour (based on the 2025 salary scale).
