About The Position

The Field Technician/Hydrovac Laborer will work with our trucks, trailers, dump trucks, and skid steer loaders in support of the Operator. This position may also provide general labor support to the shop and site crews within the company’s other divisions. Requirements

  • Valid chauffeur driver's license with a clean driving record, required
  • Steel toe boots
  • Willing to learn and take directions
  • Pass pre-employment background check and drug test
  • Ability to prioritize and work safely in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Provide above excellent customer service when dealing with clients and co-workers

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the setup, digging and teardown of the truck.
  • Know the operator's needs, monitor the progress of excavation, communicate with the operator, and be two steps ahead; these are critical to ensure the job is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Physical labor such as shoveling and removal of rocks/debris that cannot be handled by the vacuum truck.
  • Report equipment safety deficiencies immediately.
  • Operate company service/dump trucks for travel to and from worksites in a safe, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Load and unload materials from service vehicles and practice proper, legal load securement.
  • Backfilling with sand while utilizing a 2.5-ton dump truck, shovel, and wheelbarrow.
  • Setting up remote hose for situations that warrant excavation away from the truck, indoor excavations, etc.
  • Follow the company and site contractor’s safety regulations.
  • Keep the truck clean and organized.
  • Maintain and use appropriate PPE.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Perform assigned tasks safely and efficiently
  • Be respectful of team members and keep your team safe
  • Be punctual and prepared for the day; the crew does not wait
  • Follow all Plummer’s Environmental Services performance and cultural guidelines
  • Report all accidents, incidents, near-misses, and safety violations to your supervisor immediately and complete an incident report
  • Be receptive to guidance as well as training and mentorship by the supervisor
  • Show knowledge of safety policies and procedures
  • Show initiative in improving current stand operating procedures, safety rules, or any observed inefficiencies
  • Follow outlines metric for established individual growth and promotion opportunities
