About The Position

Join CROM as a Technician III, where safety comes first and your leadership makes an impact. This role supports and, when needed, steps in for the Superintendent to guide field crews on complex infrastructure projects. The function of the Technician III is to execute, and safely perform work in the field according to strict methods and procedures as directed by the Project Manager and the Superintendent. This position assumes a level of knowledge that would allow this individual to be able to take over for the Superintendent for short periods as required by job situations and/or workload. This individual would also be responsible for directing other field personnel to successfully complete projects that involve the coating, cleaning, repair, and modification of prestressed composite tanks as well as other concrete structures.

Requirements

  • 3 years CCR, 5 years at CROM, or 5 years in coatings/infrastructure
  • Completion of Technician III safety training + Level 1–3 testing
  • Valid driver’s license + clean driving record
  • Strong leadership, communication, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to travel, work at heights, and pass required screenings
  • Minimum requirement of 3 years of field work with CCR, 5 years of field work with CROM, or 5 years of satisfactory experience in the water/wastewater, infrastructure repair, and/or coatings industry.
  • Valid Driver’s License, with a clean driving record and Insurance.
  • Must Pass a background check, drug screening and Respiratory and Fit Test.
  • Successful completion of all Technician III required Safety Training.
  • Successful completion of Levels 1-3 required testing of the CCR Field Advancement Program.
  • Must be able to work at different heights off the ground.
  • Must be team player and able to work well with a diverse group of personnel.
  • Basic understanding of typical construction materials and methods.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of a computer or tablet and smart phone.
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and mentor field personnel
  • Enforce safety procedures and proper work methods
  • Perform and oversee repair, coating, and modification work
  • Communicate field conditions and resolve project issues
  • Support planning, materials selection, and execution
  • A thorough understanding of and ability to safely use tools, materials, and equipment involved in the repair, modification, and coating of concrete structures.
  • Effectively manage, train, and communicate with field personnel the requirements of the project and direct them in the performance of the work.
  • Assist the Superintendent with effectively training field personnel in the proper safety and work procedures.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts between the existing condition and the proposed work plan and communicate these issues with the Superintendent.
  • Ability to read and understand product technical data and use the material in its proper application.
  • Ability to understand all standard repair and coating techniques and to determine the proper equipment and materials necessary to perform the work.
  • Performing repairs, cleanings, coatings and modifications of prestressed composite tanks as well as other concrete structures and/or accessories.
  • Recognize actual field conditions and communicate these to the Superintendent during the work process.
  • Other duties as assigned.
