We are always pursuing excellence to exceed our ambitions goals, rewarding both the goal outcome and how we achieve it.  PurposeIs highly experienced in Service, customer service and meter reading activities.  Performs all of the standard and some specialized aspects of Service department functions.  May serve in a lead role in certain functions where general guidance and training of less experienced support personnel is needed.  Performs such work in accordance with Company, Regulatory and Safety procedures.  May be responsible for performing these duties on transmission and distribution systems and facilities, as applicable.  Independently responsible for field activities for both residential and commercial customers on transmission and distribution systems and facilities, as applicable.  Performs such work in accordance with Company, Regulatory and Safety procedures.  On call responsibilities required. AccountabilitiesUtilities Tech Responsibilities•    Meter Reading 7 Re-reads orders.  Disconnects, Paint Meters, Service and construction helper, Atmospheric corrosion, complete all safety related training, change index and meter glass, complete electronic orders and Locate (Damage Prevention).•    Observes and reports all abnormal dangerous and/or damaged conditions pertaining to gas meters and adjacent areas.  Apprentice Service Tech Responsibilities •    Residential and small commercial service activation•    Replacing service valves•    Minor Appliance repair and adjustments  All Service Tech II responsibilities •    On Call, First responder (Leaks, CO, NGLP, etc,). •    Responding to customer concerns, Leadership Training & Leak Survey•    Training of Junior Personnel•    NEWC (Large Commercial/Elevated pressure)•    May plan, monitor, coordinate and inspect contractors to ensure compliance with Federal, state, and local codes and regulations as well as Company policies, procedures and standard•    Demonstrates support for an adheres to the Company’s values, strategies, policies and procedures and exhibits the core values of Liberty Spirit, Customer Service, Safety and the Company’s Code of conduct both as an individual contributor, team member an/or leader of others.•    Must become familiar with the contents of the Safety Manual, live by the spirit of its intent and become involved in creating and maintaining a safe working environment.  Just complete all required safety training•    Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Basic Job Knowledge – specialized knowledge of specific commercial, technical, trades, or office operation
  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years total natural gas service experience
  • Must have and maintain minimum Operator Qualifications (OQ’s) and classroom training for position
  • Requires a valid driver’s license in accordance with Company standards.

Responsibilities
