About The Position

The subsurface Geology Technician III, will perform & occasionally lead projects with moderate guidance while working closely with our geologists and other technical professionals, contributing to the collection, organization, and analysis of geological data. They will provide support of geographical and spatial information and administrative support to multi-disciplinary personnel. In addition, they will assist with the integration between geologic and engineering databases. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of technology, terminology and procedures for the job function.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Kingdom, GGX and ARCGIS software.
  • Knowledge regarding industry standard engineering databases a plus.
  • Expertise in data mining and synchronization with third party vendor dbases (IHS, Enverus, State Oil and Gas Commission online resources).
  • Moderate knowledge of petroleum geology and engineering principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication required.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in both an independent and collaborative work environment and have exceptional skills in managing multiple demands, including prioritizing deadlines.
  • Motivated self-starter that takes initiative and solves problems.
  • Ability to professionally collaborate with other departments.
  • Initiates and develops reliable data sources.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 360 products (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Data Visualization Software, such as Power BI or Spotfire preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Files, retrieves, creates and maintains geological & geophysical data including 2D & 3D seismic navigation data and aerial and satellite imagery.
  • Employ geospatial software and analytical tools to organize geological data.
  • Loads and updates well-data and well locations in existing databases using appropriate software.
  • Supports all operation functions including the creation of maps, PowerPoint slides, montages, charts and reports as required.
  • Generate and compile geological information required for government regulatory compliance.
  • Maintains company geographical and spatial databases, file systems and records archives, and anticipates needs of geologists and engineers in their use.
  • Prepares support documentation for portfolio presentations.
  • Verifies the accuracy of reports, maps and reservoir data.
  • Will be effective at facilitating collaboration between Civitas geoscience teams and IT experts.
  • Occasionally independently identify near term value adding projects & bring forth recommendations to management.
