Ready to shape the future of resilient communities? Verdantas is seeking a skilled Technician II to join our team in the Rancho Cucamonga office. This position offers the opportunity to support a variety of environmental and engineering projects, working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative setting. As a Technician II, you will assist with field investigations, data collection, and technical reporting to help deliver innovative and sustainable solutions for our clients. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who enjoys hands-on work and is committed to quality and safety. This position will require periodic travel for up to a month at a time at remote job sites, for instance in the High Sierras.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical training preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in environmental, geotechnical, or construction-related fieldwork
  • Familiarity with field sampling techniques, soil and groundwater testing, and use of field instruments
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions and lifting equipment as needed
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data collection and documentation
  • Knowledge of health and safety protocols and ability to follow established procedures
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineers and project managers
  • Flexibility to travel to project sites and adapt to changing schedules
  • Will require physical, drug screening, Live Scan.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced field and laboratory tests on construction materials, structures, and systems
  • Perform inspections and assessments of projects to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from tests and inspections
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation of findings
  • Operate and maintain advanced field and laboratory equipment
  • Assist in the development and implementation of project plans and protocols
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff and team members
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance programs
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to the Project Manager/Supervisor
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures
