About The Position

The Technician II, under general supervision, evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering or scientific techniques used in research or support laboratories.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of related experience.
Knowledge of laboratory equipment, scientific apparatus, and computer equipment.
Ability to ensure attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Independently pursues an assigned series of processes, procedures, or area of research in accordance with general approved plans and procedures
Plans and executes procedures and work details
Evaluates and analyzes results
Constructs, modifies, adapts, assembles, and operates scientific and laboratory apparatus and equipment
Uses computer equipment for controlling equipment and compiling data
Makes and records observations and measurements
Summarizes and evaluates data for scientific materials requiring academic knowledge
Research and catalog reference materials requiring understanding of subject matter theory
Plans and supervises technical operations
Assist with the collection, processing, and archiving of plant, soil, and water samples related to ongoing research projects
Collect, transcribe, and organize data from the various measurements of research samples
Other duties as required.
