CDI Engineering Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Consulting Engineers Limited (TCE), is a multi-disciplinary engineering organization offering a full range of integrated engineering design, project support, procurement and construction management services to the energy and chemicals industries. This position starts up, operates, shuts down, services and restarts process equipment in accordance to operating procedures, documented guidance, operating experience, written and verbal instructions to optimize production in a safe, environmentally responsible, and optimal manner to meet the needs of the business.

Requirements

  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position (described in next section) including lifting 50 lbs., walking, climbing, standing, kneeling.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team player in a high involvement work team environment.
  • Language skills. Ability to read and interpret P & IDs and PFDs and other documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports.
  • Mathematical skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.

Nice To Haves

  • Individuals with Chemical Operator formal training or certification will be given preference provided they meet all other requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and communicate safe work behavior at all times including, but not limited to, Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures, confined space procedures, chemical handling, safe vehicle operation, use of PPE and all OSHA and other government regulations.
  • Monitor and operate chemical processing equipment and facilities, including field equipment, ensuring quality and conformance with standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor, recognize and perform work process procedures, equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, improvements, and preventative maintenance, utilizing appropriate processes and disciplines.
  • Draft, provide input and comply with all procedures including Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Determine maintenance needs, create notifications, and prepare equipment for servicing.
  • Participate in Management Of Change activities (MOC).
  • Engage in problem solving and continuous improvement on an ongoing basis to improve throughput, efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Work in or lead small teams to make continuous improvements in operations, safety and culture to support production and business goals.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in production and other areas including proper tool storage.
  • Material handling including bulk loading, bulk off-loading, packaging, labeling and sampling of products, by-products, raw material.
  • Coach and train others.
  • Participate in investigations involving process, quality, reliability, health, safety and environmental issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal/state safety/environmental regulations and procedures.
  • Participate in thorough and accurate daily shift change meetings.
