About The Position

Join Our Team as a Service Technician II! Are you a hands-on problem solver with a passion for troubleshooting and technology? As a Service Technician II, you'll play a key role in supporting our customers by delivering expert in‑house repair services, technical guidance, and product training. In this role, you will: Diagnose mechanical, hardware, software, and system issues using established procedures Perform precise testing, calibration, and quality checks on repaired equipment Read and interpret schematics to carry out modifications and improvements Serve as a trusted resource for customers, offering technical insights and support If you enjoy tackling complex challenges and take pride in restoring equipment to top performance, this is an exciting opportunity to grow your technical expertise and make a meaningful impact. This role will be onsite out of our Wheeling, IL facility!

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electronics, computer engineering, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience with test gear. Examples include oscilloscopes, RF generators, or audio analyzers.
  • Soldering experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of analog is required, and knowledge of digital electronics is a plus.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Bi/multilingual a plus.
  • Good computer skills, preferably in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to learn and apply company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.
  • Ability to follow standard procedures in analyzing situations or data.
  • Ability to build stable working relationships internally.
  • Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Shure will not sponsor applicants for this position for work visas.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of experience working with ERP systems including but not limited to SAP or Salesforce (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Repairs Company products, including but not limited to entry level products (wired microphones, headphones, and earphones), analog mixers and low tier wireless systems.
  • Analyzes and troubleshoots to component level.
  • Analyzes products for low- and high-level defects.
  • Communicates with customers regarding product repairs and operation when necessary.
  • Assists in training internal and external customers on Company products and systems.
  • Assists with Technical bulletin services and service manuals.
  • Learn to use automated and basic test tools
  • Performs other duties as assigned
