About The Position

TransCore (TCI), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a Technician I to join our team in Arlington, Texas. Job Summary: This Technician I position performs on-site or in-house servicing, repair and/or installation of company product(s). This job may include any aspect of field support and installation, and is not limited to electrical, data, and fiber optic cable installation; conduit and pull box installation; troubleshooting and repair of electronic equipment, systems, and wiring; installation of equipment; upgrades, modifications, programming; preventive maintenance actions; documentation. Determines most effective means to install equipment to maximize efficiency. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Installs equipment including but not limited to IP based cameras, antennas, detectors, network equipment, controller cabinets. Install and troubleshoot electrical conductors, data conductors, fiber optic cables. Uses in-house software to troubleshoot system issues. Terminates conductors to equipment including CAT6 cables. Connects electrical conductors to power services to energize equipment. Tests multiple devices to ensure they work correctly. Enters detailed information on electronic work orders.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

• Ability to regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Driving is a key requirement for this position.
