Performs all the standard and some specialized aspects of the function. May be responsible for performing the duties on transmission and distribution systems and facilities, as applicable. May serve in a lead role in certain functions where specific guidance and training of less experienced support personnel is needed. Performs such work in accordance with Company, regulatory and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Proficiency in basic computer knowledge
  • Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills
  • Broad job knowledge – Broader knowledge of theory and principle within a professional discipline or advanced knowledge of specific technical/operational practices
  • Relevant natural gas experience
  • Must have and maintain minimum Operator Qualifications (OQs) and classroom training for the position
  • Requires a valid driver’s license by Company standards, may require CDL
  • Must obtain and maintain any other required OQs and classroom training or certification prior to receiving position
  • Must be physically able to stoop, bend, crawl, walk, climb ladders, and do heavy lifting. Able to lift and carry materials up to 50lbs. Ability to occasionally ascend and descend stairs and ladders is required. Must also have keen senses of smell, hearing, vision, and color identification, the ability to work in all terrain and weather conditions as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform large meter inspections, regulator station inspections, and system pressure monitoring
  • Respond to customer requests for service including connections, disconnections, and leak investigations
  • May perform tasks independently related to measurement, including but not limited to installation of meters, regulators, relief valves; monitoring and testing of meters and related equipment; odorization checks; etc.
  • Perform activities to ensure responsiveness to natural gas and other emergencies
  • Complete and maintain accurate records and reports to comply with company and regulatory requirements
