The Technician I (entry level) position is responsible for providing technical support for engineering staff, including performing duties related to routine testing, maintenance or clean-up. This position works limited to direct supervision. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 0 years of relatable experience.
  • Be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.
  • Ability to use basic shop equipment and various hand tools.
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions.

  • Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal written and presentation formats.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% as required.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable driving record.

  • Applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade school certification or associate's degree in a technical field.
  • 1-1/2 years directly relatable experience.
  • Ability to operate a powered hand truck and fork truck.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate EUT (Equipment Under Test); perform and document simple repairs on EUT as needed.
  • Perform basic analysis of test data and routine calculations.
  • Provide exceptional customer experience to all customers throughout the onsite testing
  • Interact with customers in a professional manner including appearance and attitude
  • Diligently follow safety practices, knowledge of OSHA standards, and use of safety equipment as required by management
  • Work closely with lead/ crew members and take direction to complete projects within certain policies and procedures
  • Daily cleanup and maintenance of projects, work equipment, work site, vehicles and organize all tools and materials
  • Perform site survey activities with a team
  • Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety
  • Follow sample handling procedures, ensure that sample is logged into and out of the system. Move equipment as needed through the facility. Properly package sample for shipment.
  • Be comfortable handling flammable gases in accordance with Intertek protocol.
  • May communicate with clients regarding general project inquiries, updates etc.
  • Perform other work as required.
