About The Position

Applied Technical Services, LLC, is a leading provider of critical testing, inspection, certification, and compliance services. The company serves clients across a diverse set of large and stable end markets including manufacturing, power generation, aerospace, medical, and defense. ATS was founded in 1967 and is headquartered in Marietta, GA. Today the Company employs nearly 2,100 team members in over 95 locations across the United States. ATS is seeking a Field Services Technician for a full-time position. Candidate will be responsible for the field service testing and inspections of welds, bolting, fireproofing, paint, anchor pull, load testing, hydrostatic pressure and other specialties traveling on-site to our clients’ locations. Travel will include some local, regional, national or international locations as needed and ranges between 25% and 75% of the time. Candidate will work with other technicians on the team and by themselves on projects. Candidate should be a self-starter and should possess good interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience inspecting and testing welds, bolting, fireproofing, paint, anchor pull, load testing, hydrostatic pressure or similar testing/inspection specialties.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 75% of the time locally, regionally, nationally with infrequent international travel
  • Candidates should have one of the following:
  • AWS CW
  • ICC Structural Steel and Bolting certification (S1 or S2)
  • AMPP Level I/II
  • NDT Level I/II
  • Military experience acceptable
  • Ability to gain additional certifications as needed
  • Position would require driving and flying to job sites regularly.
  • Candidate shall be able to work 40 plus hours per week to meet customer demands and ATS schedule.
  • Overtime and occasional weekend work required.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in ATS and client safety programs Field related position with work such as the following:
  • Visual weld inspections Structural, non-structural, pressure vessels, various components, etc
  • Bolting inspections Structural, Skidmore testing, etc.
  • Fireproofing Inspection Field Applied Sprayed Fire-Resistive Materials and Thin-Film Intumescent Fire-Resistive Materials
  • Paint inspection (NACE/AMPP) Coating thickness, pull off adhesion, holiday inspection, etc.
  • Anchor pull testing anchors in concrete, rock, etc.
  • Load testing – various parts
  • Hydrostatic pressure testing – various components
  • Helium Leak Inspection
  • Set up and utilize testing and inspection equipment
  • Interact with clients on a professional level
  • Capable of working independently
