About The Position

Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Our MISSION is to help ensure the security of the United States and its allies by providing high-hazard experimentation and incident response capabilities through operations, engineering, education, field, and integration services and by acting as environmental stewards to the Site’s Cold War legacy. Responsibilities THIS IS A CASUAL POSITION WORKING A MAXIMUM OF 900 HOURS PER CALENDAR YEAR. The Nuclear Testing Archives is looking for support on performing digitization and management of historical nuclear testing legacy documents, photos, microfilm, and other media, for the Archiving and Data Management (ADAM) Level 2 Milestones. Additionally, this individual would assist in streamlining processes, documenting procedures, establishing metrics, and assisting in uploading documents into the Electronic Records Management System (ERMS).

Requirements

  • Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Some vocational training preferred.
  • May be required to participate in the Human Reliability Program (HRP)
  • Must possess excellent oral/written communication, planning and organizational skills.
  • Must possess excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal with all levels of people, from front line to executive leadership, in a tactful, professional and effective manner while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Closely coordinates work efforts through interaction with peers, program leads, and supervisor.
  • Ability to pass a federal background investigation.
  • The primary work location is: DRI Rogers Building on Flamingo Road (Las Vegas, NV)
  • Work hours are M-Th from 7am to 5 pm.
  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required.
  • MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to obtain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification credential under the Department of Energy Order 206.2, ‘Identity, Credential, and Access Management,’ and Supplemental Directive NNSA SD 206.2, ‘Implementation of Personal Identity Verification for Uncleared Contractors.’

Responsibilities

  • Assists in researching, extracting, analyzing, and compiling technical data.
  • Assist with digitizing legacy and archived documents.
  • Assist with streamlining processes and developing metrics.
  • Assist with uploading records into the ERMS.
  • Performs work of limited scope and basic complexity (under supervision), generally in support of more senior compliance professionals.
  • May provide support of operations at Nuclear or High Hazard (HH) facilities to maintain a condition and configuration to accept and support programs and projects.
  • May follow or develop checklists for specific related tasks related to project process improvement.
  • May support execution of program/project activities and data collection.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Management.
