About The Position
The Gathering Technician is a crucial role within Enterprise Products, primarily responsible for the operation and maintenance of a pipeline gathering system. This position is essential for minimizing downtime and ensuring that producers experience the lowest possible gathering system pressures. The technician will be expected to respond promptly to producer feedback, ensuring that their needs are met efficiently and effectively. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities that are vital to the smooth operation of the gathering system. Key responsibilities include coordinating system shutdowns for new connections and leak repairs, maintaining line pressure through activities such as pigging, balling, and drip removal. The technician will also be responsible for implementing lockout/tagout procedures, managing hydrate mitigation, and overseeing excavation activities. Dew point monitoring is another critical task that falls under the technician's purview, along with various other duties as assigned by management. In addition to operational tasks, the Gathering Technician will coordinate construction tie-ins, ensuring that all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and purging, are strictly followed. The technician will be responsible for gathering accurate data and completing daily reports to maintain operational integrity. Maintaining pipeline right-of-ways and performing all associated operational tasks is also a key part of this role. The technician will operate, inspect, and maintain high-pressure pipelines, valves, regulators, and related instrumentation, ensuring compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations. Furthermore, the role involves managing the storage and transfer of pipeline liquids and monitoring for pipeline encroachment. As a representative of the company, the Gathering Technician will interact with property owners, other pipeline company representatives, and local public representatives, making effective communication skills essential for success in this position.
