About The Position

Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost. We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Gas Turbine Technician for our Calcasieu Pass Express Pipeline, this role will located in Sulphur, LA. General Description: The Turbine Tech reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for the maintenance and documentation of turbine engines for VG pipeline facilities. The Gas Turbine Technician is responsible for the operation, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial gas turbine units and associated auxiliary systems supporting natural gas compression or power generation facilities. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient turbine performance while maintaining compliance with regulatory, environmental, and company standards. Experience with turbine platforms manufactured by companies such as Baker Hughes, Solar Turbines, GE, Siemens, or similar OEMs is preferred but not limited to these manufacturers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (Technical degree in Mechanical Technology, Power Generation, or related field preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience maintaining industrial gas turbines or large rotating equipment
  • Strong understanding of turbine auxiliary systems (fuel gas, lube oil, cooling, and starting systems)
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and OEM technical manuals
  • Familiarity with vibration monitoring and performance trending
  • Valid driver’s license
  • At least 5 years of related experience maintaining machinery, and industrial service equipment including turbines, fans, motors, generators, and pumps. Experience supporting aeroderivative or frame gas turbines in compression or power generation service
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and meet company insurability requirements
  • Knowledge of reading and interpreting charts, assembly and instruction manuals
  • Knowledge and experience using measurement tools as well as complex equipment including Bolting, Hydraulic Bolting, Flange Management, Small Bore Piping, Basic Rigging/Lifting, and follow Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and enter confined spaces
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays and respond to call outs and emergencies
  • Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules
  • Must be able to respond to an emergency at the station within 60 minutes
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and meet company insurability requirements
  • May be required to possess a commercial driver’s license, drive a company commercial vehicle and comply with all commercial vehicle regulations
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills are required

Nice To Haves

  • OEM training or certification (e.g., Baker Hughes, Solar, GE, Siemens, etc.)
  • Knowledge of centrifugal compressors and natural gas compression processes
  • Familiarity with PLC-based or distributed control systems
  • Experience supporting outage planning and execution

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial gas turbine packages
  • Support combustion inspections (CI), hot section inspections (HSI), and major overhauls
  • Inspect and maintain fuel systems (gas and/or liquid), lube oil systems, cooling systems, and starting systems
  • Troubleshoot turbine performance issues including vibration, temperature spreads, combustion instability, and load control concerns
  • Replace and maintain components such as fuel nozzles, igniters, thermocouples, filters, seals, and bearings
  • Monitor operating parameters and condition monitoring systems to identify early indicators of mechanical or performance issues
  • Coordinate with I&E personnel on turbine control systems (e.g., Mark VIe or similar platforms)
  • Support turbine startups, shutdowns, and emergency response events
  • Assist OEM representatives during major inspections and outage activities
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and compliance records
  • Outline company standards, procedures and recordkeeping forms related quality assurance of turbine engines
  • Manage maintenance program to ensure that the Company remains in compliance with the Long-Term Service Agreement (LTSA)
  • Comply with safety and environmental practices in accordance with regulatory and company requirements
  • Attend safety trainings, maintain required certifications to perform job duties, set example of high safety standards and assist in regulatory inspections
  • Occasional travel, including overnight visits, to other compressor locations will be required
