About The Position

Help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.

Requirements

• College hours, high school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Texas Driver’s License
• Fire Extinguisher License Type B – Portables or able to acquire within 6 months of employment
• Type K Cooking systems license or able to acquire within 1 year of employment
• Physically able to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, maintain, repair and install fire extinguishers and fire hoses.
• Must be able to clean recharge extinguishers.
• Perform repair and/or new work as requested on approved work order request and maintain worklog with campus location and services.
• Assist other department staff when requested by supervisor.
• Take all safety precautions related to all trades and report to Maintenance Supervisor any hazardous situations.
• May be required to work overtime or alternate work schedules.
• Assist with Fire Marshal inspections.
• Assist with emergency response to fire alarm calls.
• Attend CEU training to maintain license.
• Other duties as assigned.
