About The Position

The Technician, Financial Aid position is responsible for assisting with all aspects of student aid processing, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, Institutional, and Agency regulations. This role serves as a primary contact for students regarding financial aid programs and loan processing, utilizing various internal and web-based systems to perform necessary duties. The technician will develop a comprehensive understanding of financial aid processes and provide support to students in navigating their financial aid options.

Requirements

• Two years of increasingly responsible administrative or staff experience in financial aid or a related field.
• Proficiency in MS Office is required.
• Associate degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, public administration, or a related field preferred.

• Knowledge of operational characteristics of a campus financial aid program.
• Understanding of federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations related to financial aid.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of student aid processing and ensure adherence to regulations.
• Utilize Electronic Data Exchange for federal aid application processing.
• Serve as the first line of contact for students regarding aid programs and loan processing.
• Perform data entry functions related to student financial aid data in various systems.
• Assist with student packaging and enrollment verification.
• Help monitor and determine student satisfactory academic progress.
• Provide information regarding financial aid benefits to current and prospective students.
• Create and maintain student files, confirming accuracy of enrollment status and eligibility.
• Track applicant files for missing documentation and assist with data collection for reports.
