About The Position

The Field Technician/Pipeliner - Sulphur, LA will work independently and with other personnel to maintain and operate equipment and processes in the Midstream business unit. Some of the processes involved use hazardous and volatile materials under high temperature and pressure. Typical working conditions include: outside weather and elements, blowing air, heat, noise, vibration and occasionally working from heights and confined spaces. Operators must follow safe work practices including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position requires the successful completion of an online assessment. Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Plant process or Pipeline Process Technology
  • 1 or more years of mechanical, electrical, or pipeline maintenance experience
  • 3 or more years of direct operational experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Proficient with use of computers, iPads, and/or electronic tablets, etc.
  • Safety and environmental alertness, and promotes a safe work environment by complying with all procedures, rules and regulations

Responsibilities

  • Maintains pipeline ROW such as markers, signs, and vegetation, exposures.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely completion of paperwork.
  • Responding promptly and effectively to customer needs.
  • Responding to emergencies and assisting in maintaining emergency equipment.
  • Completing mandated safety and regulatory training (Computer Based Training).
  • Maintaining effective and professional relationships with pipeline customers and vendors.
  • Performing environmental, company and regulatory checks as necessary.
  • Eliminating, containing and reporting any and all product and/or crude leaks, seeps and spills.
  • Monitoring and enforcing safety rules at facilities.
  • Identifying and promptly communicating operational and equipment problems to supervisor and/or completing trouble reports.
  • Assisting with construction and maintenance projects.
  • Identifying and pursuing cost reduction opportunities.
  • Able to perform Lock, Tag, and Try Verifications. Work Authorization Permits.
  • Conducts pipeline pigging activities.
  • Operating valves and performs maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, manual valve actuators, etc.
  • Performs maintenance and repair of and fixed equipment such as filters (all types), strainers, dehydration systems, etc.
  • Conducts routine inspection, calibration and repair of end devices such as transmitters, switches, fire eyes, hazardous gas detection, level detection, loop tuning, etc.
  • Conducts routine inspection, calibration and repair of meter and associated equipment (Turbine, ultrasonic meter, flow computer, etc.).
  • Conducts routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of communications equipment, and sampling system.
  • Work with a Customer Centered Philosophy.
  • Performing housekeeping duties.
  • Willing to work outside immediate area.
