The primary responsibility of the Technician, Field Construction, is to provide general labor to assist in various Outside Plant Construction scenarios.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or recognized equivalent.
  • At least one year of proven experience in general construction or like service.
  • Must be able to use a computer for email communications and general job functions.
  • Must be able to login to proprietary systems and email attachments.
  • Available for after-hours work.
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a class A CDL license.
  • Must maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • At least three years of proven experience in general construction or like service.
  • At least one year of proven experience operating heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe work record and identify potentially unsafe working scenarios or conditions.
  • Follow OSHA general guidelines as directed.
  • Work efficiently as a team member of a construction crew.
  • Display a sense of urgency, professionalism, and have an ownership mentality while putting customers and potential customers first.
  • Interact with customers in a professional manner and ensure that the team leaves the working environment in like or better condition every time.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • All the responsibilities of a Technician, Field Construction I.
  • Operate at least one type of heavy machinery that is used in outside plant construction operations.
  • Understand and interpret all underground utility marks, as well as locate underground utilities using electronic locating equipment.
  • Interact cooperatively in a team environment, occasionally taking a leadership role when needed.
  • Help with team coordination efforts to create an efficient work environment.
  • Call in 'one call' tickets and be knowledgeable of the one call laws.
