About The Position

The EEG Technician position at Ascension Saint Thomas involves performing diagnostic electroencephalograph (EEG) testing to monitor and analyze brain activity. This role is crucial in providing accurate data for physicians to interpret and diagnose neurological conditions. The technician will be responsible for preparing patients, operating EEG equipment, and ensuring the quality of the test results.

Requirements

• BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic electroencephalograph (EEG) testing.
• Attach, connect, and operate electrodes from specified body areas to leads from electroencephalograph machine.
• Review patient's record and instruct patients prior to procedures.
• Monitor patient during procedures and report any abnormal findings.
• Identify and correct for artifacts.
• Edit and forward results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
• Maintain EEG equipment and supplies.
