About The Position

The position involves directing and technical directing live programs using Ross Overdrive. The individual will be responsible for directing newscasts and other live or taped programs, assisting in directing, editing, and operating cameras, floor, prompter, audio, or graphics as needed. The role requires a person who can multitask effectively, handle multiple live shots, and adjust to changes while keeping the show moving. The director supervises the production side of the broadcast, ensuring the highest quality reaches the air, and must be able to diagnose problems quickly. The position also requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure, with flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• College degree or equivalent related experience
• 2 years experience as a director/technical director
• Working knowledge of Ross Overdrive and Vision switcher is a plus
• Ability to work well under pressure and with others
• Strong organizational and logistical skills
• Creativity, initiative, and a desire to innovate
• Ability to make and execute last second decisions

Nice To Haves

• Experience with ROSS Overdrive, BitCentral, Ross XPression, ENPS, Adobe Premiere

Responsibilities

• Directing newscasts and other live or taped programs
• Assisting in directing, editing, and operating cameras, floor, prompter, audio, or graphics as needed
• Supervising the production side of the broadcast
• Diagnosing problems quickly before the product hits the air
• Working closely with Producers, Editors, Transmission, Engineering, Floor Crew, and other directors
• Overseeing editors and floor crew as a shift supervisor when the Production Manager is not present
• Managing crew breaks and staffing during shows

Benefits
