About The Position

We are seeking a Technician to join our team and support the inspection, repair, and testing of returned coffee brewers and espresso machines. This role is responsible for diagnosing issues, replacing components, performing functional tests, and ensuring all refurbished units meet company quality standards before resale or redeployment. The ideal candidate has hands-on technical experience, attention to detail, and works efficiently. This role is based in our office in San Francisco, CA and requires you to be in-office 5 days per week. This role will begin as a 40-hour-per-week (1099) contract for an initial 3-month period, with the potential for extension based on business needs. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience performing hardware technician responsibilities
  • Strong mechanical skills, with experience using a variety of hand tools
  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods; comfortable lifting up to 40 lbs
  • Punctual, reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Must be available for the full project duration

Responsibilities

  • Perform root cause analysis of complex electromechanical hardware system failures
  • Rework, repair, and update units as needed to meet company quality standards
  • Conduct functional testing and verification to ensure units operate to specification
  • Unbox, inspect, clean, and repackage inventory
  • Label and organize units by product type and condition
  • Communicate recurring issues or design feedback to the engineering and operations teams
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area
