This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will perform general duties involved in the precision cleaning and inspection of aerospace hardware to support Blue Origin’s launch facility and test stand programs for various spaceflight systems. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable spaceflight. Position Specific Details Shift: Monday – Friday (6am – 2:30pm), Location: Space Coast, FL, Relocation: Available

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in aerospace precision cleaning environment or another related field.
  • Coordinating with outside groups to receive hardware to be cleaned and ensure production operations maintains performance to plan
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or other relevant field
  • Experience working around fluid systems with applied chemistry fundamentals.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and comfortable working at heights (work stands, ladders, lifts) and/or in confined spaces.
  • Proficiency in digital tools, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Expertise in various applications, including Microsoft products & reporting tools
  • Flexibility to support surge campaigns as required – this may mean shift work or extended hours based on production needs
  • Reviewing WO’s to ensure proper hardware and supplies are available to execute the task
  • Coordination and movement of hardware, supplies, parts, etc.
  • Safe working practices: Safely working around hazardous chemicals and high-pressure systems
  • Demonstrate a strong bias for safety in operations
  • Experience with logistics and parts expediting.
  • Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field.
  • Experience with aerospace manufacturing, integration, or other relevant field
  • Experience working around fluid systems with applied chemistry fundamentals.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
  • Willingness to work overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and passivate hardware using means such as solvent/chemical, mechanical, ultrasonic, and precision cleaning methods.
  • Safely handle hardware utilizing overhead cranes, hoists, and associated lifting equipment.
  • Use titration and other direct measurement methods to analyze and correct CPV Lab solvent/chemical systems.
  • Inspect hardware using visual, UV light, borescope, microscopic particle count, and high-precision weighing methods.
  • Package accepted hardware and supplies for storage or shipment.
  • Perform shop-level maintenance and calibration of equipment such as pumps, tanks, filtration systems, scales, etc.
  • Set up and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser trackers, height gauges, and optical measuring instruments.
  • Conduct general housekeeping of Precision Cleaning Lab and Certified Clean Room area via 5S.
  • Follow safety regulations and wear protective eyewear, steel-toe boots, and other applicable personal protective equipment.
