About The Position

Assists the licensed nursing staff in the delivery of quality patient care. Provides direct patient care, monitors patient behavior, promotes a therapeutic environment and communicates changes in patient's condition to charge nurse. This position is under the direct supervision of the registered nurse. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

2 years as mental health worker, or 1 year in the department
Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency.
Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties.
Computer literacy.
BLS certification within 14 days of hire date

Nice To Haves

Bachelor degree in a mental health related field.

Responsibilities

Onboards new Psychiatric Technicians.
Validate skills and provides leadership to Psychiatric Technicians.
Participates in and monitor Performance Improvement.
Provides and/or assists in direct patient care under the supervision of the appropriate staff member.
Assists with the admission process of all patients.
Provides/Promotes a safe therapeutic environment.
Maintains a clean and wholesome atmosphere for patients.
Particpates in ongoing education.
Facilitates and serves as group leader as assigned.
Completes assigned goals.
