Forklift Mechanic Apprentice
About The Position
Eastern Lift Truck Co. is seeking a Technician Apprentice to support its Baltimore location. This entry-level position offers significant growth opportunities, competitive compensation, and benefits within a family-owned company. The role involves learning the mechanics of material handling equipment maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs through a 6-9 month formal training program. This program includes mentorship, classroom modules, and hands-on training in the shop, preparing the apprentice for a career as a Field Service Technician. The training will cover maintaining safety standards and customer interaction.
Requirements
- Some mechanical experience required
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Ability to learn quickly and follow directions
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Excellent work ethic
- Clean driving record A MUST
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Learn how to perform routine maintenance, diagnose and repair material handling equipment (i.e. forklifts, aerial lifts, pallet trucks, etc.)
- Complete required training certifications
- Assist mechanics
- Strictly adhere to all health and safety protocols
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with Company and OSHA Standards
